The right dose, right away

One of the biggest challenges dealing with radioactive substances is the radiation exposure of the radio-pharmacy personnel. Maximum radiation exposure to radio-pharmacy personnel occurs during the generator elutions, compounding (kit preparation), and unit-dose dispensing¹. Furthermore, higher hand exposure is caused by direct handling and injecting of radiopharmaceuticals².

Current safety measurements include body shielding (does not cover the hands), frequent monitoring in the form of bioassays and the use of strict threshold levels. The last two ensure early detection of exposure to radioactive iodine and quick corrective action but do not prevent the exposure, when occurs.

RescueDose has developed an automated system for the preparation and dispensing of pharmaceutical agents designed to minimize radio-pharmacy personnel exposure to nuclear substances and maximize safety.
